Community Place

Welcome to Community Place, a hub for Reading’s voluntary sector activities.

Community Place is based on the top floor of Reading’s Central Library building. It offers meeting rooms and conference facilities for hire, hosts training and events, and is a hub for information and guidance for local residents on a range of areas, from volunteering to accessing services available from Reading’s many voluntary groups and charity organisation.

Training, events and forums – RVA hosts a range of training sessions, events and forums at Community Place. You can view the upcoming RVA training schedule here, and events here.

Volunteering advice – if you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering and the opportunities available across Reading, we’re here to help. You can browse opportunities here, or arrange an appointment with one of our volunteering advisors via this form.

Health checks – as part of the Community Wellness Outreach project running until June 2025, RVA is hosting health checks sessions delivered by the NHS Meet PEET team at Community Place. You can learn more about the health checks, find a venue near you and book an appointment here.
