Reading Mencap is launching an exciting new club for young people with learning disabilities aged 18-25 and we are looking for a Deputy Leader to help run it.
The Saturday 18 – 25 Club will offer activities including sport, gaming, making music and drama alongside life and social skills to help its members develop greater independence.
The club will be held on a Saturday for 45 weeks of the year at Reading Mencap, Alexandra Road, Reading from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
The Deputy Club Leader will assist the leader in all areas of responsibility and will stand in for them in their absence.
Tasks will include assisting with planning the programme for the club, helping to arrange transport, helping to lead the weekly sessions and keeping and maintaining accurate records.
This role will suit a calm and well-organised person, who is positive and non-judgemental when dealing with difficult situations.
Ideally, candidates will have experience in working with people with learning disabilities in a care or educational setting.
- Candidates will need a good standard of written and spoken English
- The job holder will be subject to a successful Enhanced DBS check.
