Reading Mencap is looking for a leader to run its exciting new club for young people with learning disabilities aged 18-25.
The Saturday 18 – 25 Club will offer activities including sport, gaming, making music and drama alongside helping members further develop life and social skills.
The Club Leader will have responsibility for the development and management of the club, the activities, the Deputy Club Leader, Club Assistant and volunteers.
The club will be held on a Saturday for 45 weeks of the year at Reading Mencap, Alexandra Road, Reading from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
The Club Leader will have additional paid working hours for planning and setting and clearing up.
This role will suit a calm and well-organised person who has experience of working with young people with learning disabilities in either a care or educational setting.
Tasks will include planning the club’s programme, leading the weekly sessions, keeping accurate records and carrying out risk assessments.

- Candidates will need a good standard of written and spoken English
- An NVQ Level 2 or higher in care or its equivalent is desirable
- The job holder will be subject to a successful Enhanced DBS check.
