Reading Mencap is seeking a friendly, adaptable person to join our day service team as a Care Support Worker. We have a vacancy for calm and non-judgemental person to join us for two days a week – weekdays only.
This role would be ideal for someone who has experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in another caring role and who enjoys supporting them to take part in a range of activities.
Our Day Opportunities Services provides meaningful group activities for adults with learning disabilities. Members choose the activities they would like to do and regularly enjoy sports, arts and crafts, cooking and dancing. We use our minibus to get out and about in the community.
As a Care Support Worker, you will be part of a small team providing practical assistance to our clients including support with activities, personal care and everyday living skills.
Ideally, you will hold an NVQ 2 in care or its equivalent or have a willingness to work towards their qualification (support can be given for study and financing this qualification).
