We are in the process of attempting to set up a Heartstart Reading Scheme to teach Emergency Life Support Skills (ELS) to the general public in and around the Reading Area. These sessions will last approximately 2 hours and will be free of charge to the general public.
We are applying for affiliation to the British Heart Foundation (BHF), meaning our scheme will be independent to the BHF however they will supply the materials and consumables needed to get us started in our first affiliation year. After supplying the initial equipment our scheme must be self funded.
What are ELS Skills?
ELS Skills are actions that are required to keep someone alive until further professional medical assistance arrives on the scene. ELS includes CPR.
