As a specialist support worker for Young People and Children First, you’ll be supporting young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have been through the care system or have been affected by homelessness. These young people (service users) may have additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work in a collaborative way with partner agencies to support our young people into independent living using our key working process to ensure positive outcomes.
You will work 40 hours a week, five days a week, across 3 locations in Thatcham Berkshire.
The principle duties include:
- Being an allocated key worker and manage a case load of young people.
- Providing emotional, practical and social support, using a strength based model.
- Carrying out holistic assessments of service users, creating support plans and risk assessments.
- Working in partnership with other professionals to meet the educational, employment and health and mental health needs of young people.
- Be part of the on-call rota, approximately one week out of six.

At least one year’s experience supporting young people, essential.
DBS check will be required.
