18.5 hours/week – fixed term appointment to April 2026
Are you a skilled and dedicated social worker eager to apply your expertise to a new role? Do you want to be part of a supportive and collaborative team at one of the UK’s most successful adoption charities, rated outstanding by Ofsted since 2014?
With your social work experience you will support birth relatives whose children have a plan for adoption or have been placed for adoption. Working closely with colleagues in Buckinghamshire Council who will refer the relatives to PACT, you will provide support through individual sessions, support groups and drop-in sessions.
This role includes supporting birth relatives to meet with adoptive parents and help birth relatives understand the importance for children, to keep connected to relatives and significant people from their past.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with birth relatives whose children have been placed for adoption and a good understanding of the adoption process. You will work with relatives from a range of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and those who may be neuro diverse and you will need to demonstrate understanding, respectfulness and adaptability to your social work practice.
