Senior Support Worker – closing date 24 April 2022

Parenting Special Children are searching for someone with motivation, drive and passion, able to work as part of a team helping autistic/ADHD children and young people reach their full potential.

The Senior Support Worker will be required to lead, plan and deliver sessions for Parenting Special Children’s Auticulate, Social Interaction Course and a new Transitions Group. Additionally, the Senior Support Worker will support the A Team and Let’s Get Creative projects.

Term time only.
15 hours split over the following activities:

  • Interact – Monday 4-7pm (weekly)
  • Auticulate – Wednesday 4-7pm (weekly)
  • Weekly Administration
  • Transition Group – run once a month, evening time and day of week to be determined
  • Let’s Get Creative/ A Team – run once a month on a Saturday.

We run two social interaction groups, Auticulate and Interact for neurodiverse children and young people aged between 8 and 16 in mainstream schools. The main aim is to support members to develop and practice social communication and life techniques through a programme of education, discussion, role play, peer mentoring and real-life practice.

This role also includes an exciting opportunity to lead, plan and implement a new group for neurodiverse young people/adults aged 16 to 25 years old.
