We provide support for a wide range of children including those over four years old, sibling groups, children from diverse ethnicities and who may have physical or learning disabilities. With access to our specialist therapeutic services, we are proud to provide excellent lifetime support for our families’ adoption journeys.
We are looking for an experienced adoption social worker ideally with some form of specialist therapeutic experience. We can support you to undertake training including Theraplay and/or Dyadic Development Practice (DDP) training to build on your existing knowledge and to support your success in the role. There will be external clinical supervision and opportunity to participate in regular DDP external supervision meetings.
As part of the Strengthening Families Team, you will be carrying out some individually tailored and in-person packages of therapeutic work with adoptive children and their adoptive parent/s. You will also be helping to plan and co-deliver some in-person therapeutic group work sessions (known as Adoptee Voices) on a regular basis.
