Citizens Advice Reading is urgently looking for an enthusiastic and highly able Project Manager to lead a ground-breaking project designed to offer a practical way for people to “plan ahead” for their end of life.
The pilot will provide practical information and advice to help people understand their rights and make the plans they need. It aims to:
- Equip people with knowledge and confidence so they feel in control of their situation.
- Reduce misunderstandings of how people want their affairs handled after their death.
- Break the taboo of talking about dying by raising awareness in the community.
- Increase openness and help to change attitudes about end of life planning.
Its main focus will be on helping people who are terminally ill (or who have a chronic health condition) and/or older people. It will also raise awareness of the service and its benefits to local organisations, frontline workers and community groups.
Supervising two volunteers, you will lead the planning of the project and the subsequent roll out, including delivering frontline worker training and community group talks.
You will need to work closely with the volunteers to ensure that all targets relating to the project are met according to set timescales.
