Due to growth and expansion of our services, we have both F/T and P/T opportunities on permanent and fixed term basis covering Berkshire and Oxfordshire areas.
Bounce Back for Kids (BB4K) is a support programme for children and families affected by domestic abuse. We use therapeutic techniques, aimed at children ages 3-11 years and their non-abusing parent. It provides support to families once the abuse has ended and the perpetrator is no longer living in the family home.
Some key aims of the service:
- Understand the cycle of domestic abuse and heal from trauma
- Validate and empower children and their parent/main carer
- Give parents the opportunity to see domestic abuse through their child’s eyes
- Strengthen positive and healthy attachments
- Improve children’s school attendance
We are looking for Support Workers to provide outreach support, co-facilitating the BB4K group work, as well as targeted 1-2-1 delivery of the programme.
If you have experience delivering groupwork programmes for vulnerable parents and/or children, a good understanding of domestic abuse and the impact on children and families or an interest in working in this field, we would like to hear from you.
