Learning disability awareness training for VCOs (free) PART 2

Monday 18 November 2024
Designed for frontline staff & volunteers, active in local VCOs, looking to develop & enrich their awareness of learning disabilities.

Reading Voluntary Action has received funding to deliver an in-person 16-month Community Wellbeing Training Programme in our town centre training suite, for health and wellbeing practitioners (open to paid staff and volunteers) active in local voluntary and community organisations (VCOs).

A chance to meet people with learning disabilities, at one of their weekly “Hear Our Voice” self advocacy sessions. The group will take part in a facilitated session exploring their experiences in looking after their own health and wellbeing, and accessing community services, identifying things that are challenging, and possible solutions. There will be the opportunity to chat informally and share a cuppa and a snack during the session.

(NB: this optional session (PART 2) is only open to people who attended PART 1 on 13.11.24. Please click here for more information and the booking link for PART 1.)
