Easyfundraising is a fundraising platform for organisations and enables you to raise unrestricted funds through online shopping. RVA has recently partnered with Easyfundraising to help local groups to find out about this fundraising platform. Below is an explanation from Easyfundraising and how your group can sign up.

How it works

Here’s how it works: when your supporters use the Easyfundraising website or app to find a retailer they want to shop with, the retailer sends your organisation a free donation based on how much they spend. It doesn’t cost the shopper anything extra as the retailer pays the donation, not the shopper. It’s a bit like using a cashback site, but instead of one individual benefiting, your community can pull together and raise for your organisation. Anything from an online weekly grocery shop to booking a family holiday online can generate a free donation.

Easyfundraising enables people to give to your organisation without it coming directly out of their pockets, which is a very good thing during the cost of living crisis.

It’s free to register and use and is open to voluntary organisations of all shapes and sizes – you don’t need to be a registered charity, and the funds you raise will be classed as unrestricted, so you can use them as you wish for running your charity, including overheads such as insurance.

How to get started
  • Register for free here: Easyfundraising Sign Up page for Reading Voluntary and Community Groups
  • Create your organisation’s profile on the Easyfundraising site – it’s free and only takes a few minutes
  • Get familiar with Easyfundraising – book a call with one of the team, who will show you around, so you are up to speed on how the site works.
  • Share the good news – use the pre-built social media copy, images, posters, and flyers in your Easyfundraising account to tell your supporters and get them onboard.
How does RVA benefit?

RVA has partnered with Easyfundraising to enable local groups to find out about this platform and to benefit. Each time a local group signs up or raises money using the above link, RVA will also receive a small commission. This does not cost the group or your supporters anything but comes from Easyfundraising to RVA. We are committed to reinvesting any monies raised through this platform towards our aims to support and help the local voluntary and community sector to thrive.
