Stroke Group Support Volunteer

Support volunteers needed for Stroke Association in RG2

The Reading Stroke Support Group plays an important role in ensuring that stroke survivors, their family and carers do not become socially isolated. It helps to build confidence and self-esteem and aims to assist them in achieving their personal goals for a full life after stroke.

Meetings provide opportunities for meeting and socialising with others, sharing experiences and tips, etc. Meetings also occasionally include presentations and workshops.

As a Stroke Group Supporter volunteer you will be part of a team who will assist in the running of the group. Tasks may include:

  • Meeting and greeting group members.
  • Helping with refreshments.
  • Supporting group members to take part in group activities.
  • Supporting committee members to set-up and clear away where the group meets.
