Referral Order Community Panel Members needed
Community Representative volunteers needed for Reading Youth Offending Service in RG1
We are currently looking for volunteers to become Referral Order Community Panel members. They will work with the Youth Offending Service to facilitate the agreement of contracts of work for young people to complete.
Together a tailored programme of work is discussed and agreed which enables the young person to repair the harm caused by their offending behaviour. It also addresses any factors in their lives that may cause them to offend
Reading Youth Offending Service works with young people aged 10-18 years old who are subject to pre-Court disposals, Court Orders or at risk of becoming involved with the Youth Justice System to reduce their risk of offending.
Volunteers should be able to demonstrate a commitment to working with young people and their parents / carers to prevent further offending as well as the victims of these offences. It is essential that volunteers with the Youth Offending Service have a strong commitment to working with people of different ages, ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds and do this without prejudice. This role requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
No previous experience or knowledge of the youth justice system is required.
