For the past 10 years Food4families has created 25+ school and community food-growing gardens in Reading, involving thousands of people in growing fresh, healthy produce.

As a result of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Food4Families has identified a need to increase local food growing to provide fresh food to vulnerable people in the community.

Food4Families would like to utilise the many people that responded to Team Reading’s call for volunteers to help in the Covid19 crisis; to ‘make a difference’ by growing and distributing fresh produce.

Working alongside existing Food4Families garden tutors we are looking for local volunteers to grow fruit and vegetables at our existing community gardens by expanding the existing growing area to meet the demand.

There will be opportunities to learn invaluable skills and useful experience through the project along with benefitting your own health and wellbeing.

An induction and training will be provided.
