Food4Families (f4f) has created a network of food growing gardens across Reading where residents can learn how to grow their own food together. These gardens are on allotment sites, school playing fields and communal land. Each garden has its own dedicated tutor and the project provides seeds, tools and other equipment to enable them to get growing.
We are looking for volunteers to support paid garden tutors working with residents (children and adults) in growing fruit and veg but also helping with general maintenance.
This year we are going to attempt to grow all our own plug plants in our new poly-tunnel and are looking for people to help there as well.
This role would be suitable for supported volunteering
