IRiS Reading are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are looking to work within the field of Substance Misuse and would like to volunteer with our organisation to gain the skills and knowledge needed to become a Recovery and Engagement Worker.

Volunteer Engagement and Recovery Worker Job Purpose:
To provide a quality service to clients presenting or in need, which have a history of substance misuse related problems by undertaking a caseload of clients and associated activities.
Provide advice, advocacy and support to clients who have a history of problematic substance use.
Where appropriate to work in close partnership with other agencies to ensure clients access a full range of services
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work directly with clients and potential clients delivering motivation interviewing intervention to support clients in accessing services.
- To implement a referral service using structured guidelines & to provide support for continuity of care.
- To attend appropriate internal and external meetings and Training.
- To contribute to the development of services and policies.
- Undertake assessments, harm reduction advice and referrals.
- To participate in and plan training for other professionals/groups.
- Participate in supervision with the Service Manager or Team Leader.
- Provide written and verbal reports as requested by the Service Manager or Team Leader
- To comply with all IRiS policies and procedures.
- Carry out duties to which they are competent to perform as directed by the Service Manager or Team Leader
