We are looking for volunteers who will help service users by:
- Undertaking assessments to set out clear care plans
- setting goals
- supporting them in accessing relevant benefits
- attending appointments
- form filling
- obtaining identity documents
- opening a bank account
- registering with health services.
- supporting and empowering them in developing a positive local social network
- reducing isolation
- supporting them in looking for voluntary or paid work
- working alongside other partner agencies
- appointments advocacy e.g. JCP.
We would like our volunteers to have the following experience and skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
- reliability and commitment to weekly 1 hour meetings, ideally for 6 months minimum
- be approachable, friendly, and professional
- be non-judgmental
- an ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries
- an understanding or willingness to learn of homelessness and barriers to social inclusion
- a willingness to adhere to organisational policies and procedures, including attending training and supervision
- an ability to complete monitoring and evaluation forms as required
- an enthusiasm to contribute to a positive environment supporting vulnerable people.
