Respite fostering children with disabilities

Disability

We are currently seeking compassionate and committed individuals to provide respite care for children with complex needs and disabilities. Our foster carers do an incredible job, and the support of respite carers is essential in helping them continue providing high-quality care while maintaining their own wellbeing and avoiding burnout. As you can appreciate, it can be particularly challenging to find suitable local placements for children with higher needs. As a service, we are committed to ensuring that our children are well matched with carers and, wherever possible, remain close to their communities, schools, and important relationships.

We are looking for individuals who can offer short-term, planned respite care, typically during weekends and school holidays. We also welcome expressions of interest from those who may be able to offer additional or more regular support.

To be considered, applicants should:
  • Be aged 21 or over
  • Have a spare bedroom
  • Have experience of working with or caring for children with complex needs and/or disabilities
In return, you will receive:
  • Competitive financial remuneration
  • Training tailored to your role
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated and experienced fostering team

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children while supporting the invaluable work of our foster carers.
