Trustees’ Week offers committees, Boards and charities the opportunity to reflect on the past year and look to the future, especially during current times where there has been so much uncertainty and change. It’s also a moment to pause and thank those who volunteer their time to lead charities. So here’s a BIG thank you to all of you who lead our charities in Reading, the sector wouldn’t be the same without you!

This year Trustees’ Week will run from 1 to 5 November. This article shares some opportunities for Trustees’ to take a step back and attend one or more of the many trustee events taking place during Trustees’ Week. So take a look and attend as many of these as you wish/ are able to. Do share with your fellow trustees too.

Tuesday 2 November 5.15pm  -7.45pm: RVA Trustee Training online via Zoom

A chance to brush up on your skills, learn about the roles and responsibilities and meet other local trustees from Reading. This is our signature trustee training that we run quarterly by popular demand. Cost £10 – book your place here

Wednesday 3 November 11am – 12noon. NCVO webinar: Leading on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with your Board

Exploring how boards can take practical actions and show leadership on equality diversity and inclusion (EDI). The session will be led by Pari Dhillon of the Social Justice Collective. Cost: Free. Book online here

Thursday 4 November 9.30am – 11am. NCVO webinar: Leading by example on mental health and wellbeing

With so many charities now planning for the future, Simon Blake, chief executive of Mental Health First Aid England, will examine how boards can lead by example on mental health and organisational wellbeing. Cost: free. Book online here.

Friday 5 November 2pm-3.30pm. NCVO Webinar: Strengthening Board relationships in times of uncertainty

Bringing together a panel of experts from the UK and overseas to explore what trustees can do to support their boards to work well together, particularly in times of uncertainty. Cost: free. Book online here
