The Reading Advice Network is a diverse group of voluntary organisations who give information and advice to people in need in Reading. It has its own Quality Standard and member organisations make a commitment to achieve and maintain this Standard. The Standard is written so that it can be used as a self-assessment tool, but these self assessments need to be verified by an independent assessor. Member organisations are reassessed every four years.
The Network is seeking a replacement for its current assessor, who is retiring. A job description and person specification, and details of the Quality Standard, are both available on the Network’s website – www.readingadvicenetwork.org.uk
Assessments are currently suspended because of the Covid-19 pandemic but are expected to resume in the next few months. The work is intermittent, but the assessor could spend up to 12 days a year working with member organisations on assessments. The Network has no employees or offices, so the assessor will be self-employed and work from home. The daily payment rate will be agreed between the Network and the successful applicant.
Applications, which should consist of a CV and covering email, indicating how you meet the requirements of the person specification, are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals. They should be sent to chair@readingadvicenetwork.org.uk by 30 April 2021.
Interviews will be held on Thursday May 20, probably by Zoom, so applicants must keep that day free.
