If you have an interest in the archaeology and heritage of Berkshire then this society is for you! The Society was founded in 1871 and for over 145 years has encouraged and supported archaeological activities in Berkshire.

These activities include regular monthly lectures and opportunities to participate in more in-depth study-groups; visits and tours to local and regional sites of interest; possibilities of actually getting your hands dirty and both excavating as well as washing and processing the finds from excavations; designing publicity material; getting involved in outreach to schools and other community groups. Friendly mentoring and training accompanies you each step of the way.

Everybody with an interest in archaeology is welcome to attend our meetings and join the Society for a small fee. All members receive a regular newsletter and the Berkshire Archaeological Journal.
