SOFEA trains people struggling to find jobs in logistics-related work, using food donated by supermarkets which is then given to local charities. SOFEA is part of the FareShare network.
SOFEA offers qualifications in Maths, English, Warehousing and forklift certification. We also run additional programmes in Art, Radio Podcasting, IT and more. We often work with young people aged 16-21, up to 25 years old with additional learning needs, and occasionally below 16 years old as part of a school referral. We work with other organisations such as The Shaw Trust, Mind, Mencap to offer work experience to volunteers.
SOFEA delivers fresh, high quality food to over 50 charities in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. This service provides valuable work experience for our young people.
