The River & Rowing Museum is an educational charity opened in 1998 to celebrate the River Thames, the international sport of Rowing and the culture and history of our local area. We run a broad and vibrant program of special exhibitions, lectures and family activities as well as a dedicated learning centre that offers a diverse range of innovative programmes.
Every year, we work with 19,000 children and over 200 schools, provide 35 national curriculum supporting courses and, importantly, partner with other charities and organisations to provide opportunities that young people, and disabled adults and children, would not otherwise have had.
The museum engages with students at all levels of their education – from primary school through to PHD level studies – and works with three universities to provide opportunities and understanding of the heritage sector and amateur sporting history.
