Queen Victoria Fund Reading (QVFR) provides grants for public health initiatives that help combat health inequity.
This might include perinatal inequalities, positive action on obesity and weight loss, alcohol misuse, children’s nourishment and child socialisation. QVFR will also consider funding initiatives which address mental health issues, including clinical depression and certain forms of addictive behaviours such as gambling.
Organisations working within communities and neighbourhoods in the Reading Borough and Earley Town Council areas are eligible to apply.
Such groups do not need to be registered as a charity, but must be properly constituted, with their own bank accounts and with responsible officers, e.g. Chair, CEO, Treasurer.
Organisations will need to demonstrate how their health-related project benefits local people.
