The Dyslexia Research Trust (DRT) runs a busy clinic in Reading, offering appointments mainly free of charge for the diagnosis and treatment of reading difficulties. The DRT is associated with Oxford University and is involved in supporting academic researchers – developing the skills and knowledge needed to continue scientific advance in the study of dyslexia. The methods developed by researchers have enabled dyslexic children to improve their reading fast enough to catch up with non-dyslexic children. Visual treatments have shown a significant improvement in reading and in some cases the progress of some children has quadrupled.
The Reading Clinic provides visual assessments specifically for children who struggle with visual problems associated mainly with dyslexia but also dyspraxia, adhd and autism.
The Trust relies entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising events to keep going and we receive no funding from the NHS or other government sources.
