Sanctuary Hosting is a small Oxford-based charity working across the Thames Valley to match homeless asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants with people who offer a rent-free spare room for an agreed period of time. The part-time Service Coordinator based in the Reading area will work alongside the full-time coordinator in Oxford to develop the service and ensure it runs smoothly and safely. The work includes assessing and responding to guest referrals, helping to recruit suitable hosts, coordinating and supporting hosting placements, and managing a team of volunteers who support our host and guests.

You will need experience of delivering high quality, confidential, user-centred services for vulnerable people as well as a general understanding of and empathy for the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. The role requires strong partnership working, communication, organisational and IT skills. An awareness of boundaries and willingness to engage in regular supervision to promote self care are essential.

You will need to be able to work flexibly, undertaking out of hours and weekend work as required, and to travel extensively across Reading and Berkshire.
