Service Coordinator – closing date 27 January 2020

Sanctuary Hosting is a small Oxford-based charity working across the Thames Valley to match homeless asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants with people who offer a rent-free spare room for an agreed period of time.

  • Location: Travel throughout the Thames Valley area.
  • Much of the job is also home-based working.
  • Hours: 22.5 per week.

The role has responsibility for ensuring the service runs smoothly and safely, assessing and responding to guest referrals and coordinating, facilitating and supporting hosting placements. You will need experience of delivering high quality, confidential, user-centred services for vulnerable people. You will also need a general understanding of and empathy for the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. The role requires strong partnership working, communication, organisational and IT skills. An awareness of boundaries and willingness to engage in regular supervision to promote self care are essential. You will need to be able to work flexibly, undertaking out of hours and weekend work as required, and to travel across the Thames Valley.
