Reading Mencap is launching an exciting new club for young people with learning disabilities aged 18–25.
The Saturday 18–25 Club will offer activities including sport, gaming, drama and making music alongside gaining life and social skills to help its members develop greater independence.
The club will be held on a Saturday for 45 weeks of the year at Reading Mencap, Alexandra Road, Reading from 10:30am to 3:30pm
The Club Assistant will assist the Club Leader and Deputy Leader in running weekly sessions.
Tasks will include supervising clients to get the most out of activities, ensuring volunteers are engaging effectively with club members and helping to plan suitable activities.
This role will suit a calm and well-organised person who has experience of working with young people with learning disabilities in either a care or educational setting.
A good standard of spoken and written English is required.
The job holder will be subject to a successful Enhanced DBS check.
