The University of Reading is a sector leader in the use of Participatory Action Research (PAR) to co-create research with communities who may be seldom heard and underrepresented. To deepen these engagements we have created a Participatory Action Research (PAR) Training and Development Manager position to promote the use of PAR methodology among research staff at the University. The post will sit within Research Services and will work closely with the Corporate Communications function to also develop new research collaborations with local partner organisations and community groups and contribute to building research income.
As a research-intensive university, we aim to carry out research that changes our understanding of the world past, present and future; promotes innovation; and tackles current and future challenges facing societies.
You will have:
- Experience in working in a research environment
- A proven track record of managing PAR and/or community research projects
- An ability to develop, plan and implement community research training and facilitation
- Effective stakeholder engagement and management skills
