Dementia Activities Support Worker – closing date 20 November 2022

To be part of a new initiative in Wokingham Borough working towards making the Borough Dementia Friendly by developing, planning and delivering fun, interesting and engaging activities and information sessions for people with dementia and their carers.

Full driving licence and access to a car is essential.

1 To develop, administer, facilitate and deliver activities for people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy. These will include, but are not limited to, dementia cafés, dementia walks, singing groups and Maintenance cognitive stimulation therapy sessions.

2 Assess and review the success of the events particularly the opinions and needs of those attending the group and report any concerns to line manager/ liaise with carers/ family.

3 Ensure there is adequate staff/ volunteers at each activity and complete risk/ health and safety assessments as needed.

4 To provide information and support to people with dementia and their carers in relation to diagnosis, living with dementia, health and social care issues.

5 Using a variety of platforms but predominantly Microsoft applications and our own CRM to collect and analyse data which will provide information to demonstrate the achievement of milestones, monitoring, evaluation and reporting the success of the activities.
