Adult Autism Mentor – closing date 25 November 2022

Autism Berkshire is launching a new support service for autistic adults in the county, on behalf of the Frimley NHS Integrated Care Service and the Bucks, Oxon and Berkshire West NHS ICS, and has a vacancy for a part-time Adult Autism Mentor, with experience of working in a role supporting autistic people and their families.

The postholder will support autistic adults who have a diagnosis, or are waiting for assessment, helping them to access health, education, community, and other services throughout Berkshire, and will develop new social groups for autistic adults.

Knowledge of autism and of health, social care and voluntary sector services is vital and previous experience working in the voluntary sector would be an advantage.

The role is home-based but the successful applicant will need access to a car and be able to drive to locations across Berkshire to support clients and attend meetings.

The post is offered on a contract basis until October 31, 2024, with the possibility of renewal, subject to funding.
