OpenHand OpenSpace is based in West Reading with a number of artist studios and a gallery in the Grade II listed Brock Keep. The organisation is run by volunteers, some of whom have studios at OHOS. The organisation requires a regular level of administration ensuring that the day-to-day finances, insurance and other statutory requirements are in order and correspondence with the membership and other interested parties is maintained.
What skills and qualities are we looking for?
- general administrative skills including email, MS Office, bookkeeping and record keeping
- very good communication skills, orally and in writing
- confidence to deal with visitors, contractors and artists
- very good organisational skills, proactivity and commitment
- ability to prioritise essential tasks while also completing routine tasks
- ability to work independently, but also enjoy being part of a team
- An interest in contemporary art and the local community
- Enthusiasm, proactivity and curiosity
You will work for 6.5 – 7 hours per week, based at Brock Keep, 571 Oxford Road, Reading. Remote access to the shared Google Drive and email can be provided to enable some working from home. There is scope for flexibility on your weekly working pattern, hours and days, which can be discussed at interview.
