Would you like to improve the chances of your group securing grant funding. Come along to this new training from RVA that will help you to understand the grant funding process and learn what makes a good application. This is a practical session and you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learnt.

We will cover:
- The process for applying for funding
- Getting the basics right – your governance
- Demonstrating evidence of need
- Strengths, weaknesses and added value
- Monitoring and evaluation framework to support your application
- Setting a realistic and compelling budget
Who should attend:
The training is suitable for anyone who is involved in your group’s fundraising, this may be a lead volunteer, a staff member or trustee.
Please note our training is primarily for voluntary and community groups who operate services in Reading. Please contact us first if your group is out of area as we may need to add you to the waiting list and please ask us for our rate for organisations not serving Reading.
Your trainer:
This training will be delivered by Reading Voluntary Action’s Advice Service Manager, Herjeet Vass. Herjeet has a background in charity management, including experience of funding applications and supporting groups with one-to-one funding advice.
Practicalities:
Registration and refreshments from 9.45am
The session runs from 10am – 1pm, with a short comfort break midway.
Cost £10 (Free for smaller groups with an income under £100K)
Venue: Conference Hall, Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC), 35-39 London Street, Reading, RG1 4PS. Come to the ‘event space’ entrance as marked on this map.
There is no parking onsite but RISC is easily accessed via public transport. Nearby car parks are Queens Road and the Oracle. There are also some disabled parking spots on London Street – see the above link. Please contact us in advance if you have access needs.

14+ days notice – full refund
7-14 days notice – 50% discount
Less than 7 days notice – no refund unless there are extenuating circumstances.
