This webinar will be focused on Pregnancy and Postnatal, exploring the science, barriers, guidance, myth busting, practical support and more to help explore how we can work collaboratively to influence the system and support pregnant and postnatal women to be more physically active.
Providing evidence-based guidance as well as access to physical activity for pregnant and postnatal women is essential for supporting their physical and mental health, optimising pregnancy outcomes, and promoting long-term well-being for both mothers and their children. We want to empower and support women during this life stage to access more opportunities to be active and receive consistent advice and guidance from healthcare professionals.
Joining the webinar will be some of Berkshires experienced Maternity (Pre & Postnatal) Health Professionals, Physical Activity Experts and Ambassadors working across this field, who will share lots of important insight and expertise:
- Dr Lou Atkinson -Supporting women to be active before, during and after pregnancy. Lou is a Behavioural Scientist and Exercise Professional & Expert scientific advisor for the Active Pregnancy Foundation.
- Catherine Ross – Providing Pelvic Health related barriers to exercise. Catherine is an advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner – Perinatal Pelvic Health Service – Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
- Bernice Littleboy – This Mum Moves Ambassador. Bernice is an ex-midwife, pregnancy & postnatal instructor supporting women throughout this phase of their life.
