The Trustees make discretionary grants where they believe that their contribution will make a real difference. Grants are available to registered charities in the UK working in the areas of arts and heritage, education, environment, health, or social and economic disadvantage.

Who can apply?
  • Charities, including CIOs, registered in any part of the United Kingdom,
  • Exempt Charities as defined in schedule 3 of the Charities Act 2011,
  • Any organisation has more than one structure, i.e. be a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
  • The organisation applying must have an annual turnover of over £50,000.
What are the funding priorities?

Applications must be for charitable purposes that fall into one of the five core categories below:

  • Arts and Heritage
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Social or Economic Disadvantage
What can the grant be used for?

There are no restrictions on the type of funding for which applicants may apply, and Trustees will consider contributions towards core costs and capital works as well as specific projects.

How much can you apply for?

The minimum grant application is £10,000, and grants over £25,000 are rarely made.

Is there a deadline?
This is a rolling grants programme and there are four funding windows per year as follows:

  • Opens 16 April, deadline 11 July, decision in early October
  • Opens 16 July, deadline 11 Oct, decision in early Jan
  • Opens 16 Oct, deadline 11 Jan, decision in early Apr
  • Opens 16 Jan, deadline 11 Apr, decision in early July
