Introduction

The Community Investment and Partnerships Team at SNG is delighted to announce the launch of the first EDI Microgrants Programme, a programme which aims to support equality, diversity, and inclusion across their communities by bringing people and partners together with a diversity of experiences, perspectives and backgrounds.  

Who is eligible to apply?

Applications will only be accepted from:

  1. Formally constituted resident groups
  2. Not-for-profit organisations  
  3. Community Interest Companies (CIC)
  4. Registered charities
  5. Schools

With

  • A bank account in the name of the group/organisation
  • A Management Committee or Governing Board
  • Appropriate policies and procedures relevant to the group activities
  • Public Liability Insurance, to cover all risk associated with the activities of the organisations
What are the funder priorities?

Priority will be given to applications that have a clear EDI focus, objectives, a viable project plan and timetable. 

How much can organisations apply for?

Grants from £500 up to £1000 are available to support community initiatives, activities and events

What the funding can be used for
  • Cultural awareness/history projects and activities that celebrate diversity and Black, Asian and minority ethnics heritage.
  • Events that embrace inclusion and belonging  
  • Projects that address under-representation and promote active participation. 
  •  Workshops/Networking events that amplify women and girl voices  
  •  Locally based interventions that support and increase the visibility and acceptance of  LGBTQ+ people and communities.
  • Activities that support people with learning disabilities 
  • Activities that promote Inter-generational connections
  • Campaigns that embrace cultural differences, challenge the status quo and create transformational change within our communities.
  • Activities and peer support for migrants and refugees to overcome the barriers they face and support their integration into the community
  • Community research on EDI best practices
 Is there a deadline?

The deadline for applications is 23 February, 2024 at 12pm.

Supporting documents required are:

  • An Organisation letterhead/email which includes your Organisation logo, name, address and contact information as well as your full bank details (Account name, Name of Bank, Account number, Sort code).  *Compulsory
  • Copy of governing document *Compulsory
  • Case study, good story or short film * Optional

Successful grantees will need to complete a small grant report.  A link to a brief online monitoring and evaluation form will be sent to you once you start the programme,  to be completed by June 25th or the end of your project.
