Nominations for the 2023 National Lottery Awards are now open to celebrate the inspirational people and projects who do extraordinary things with the help of National Lottery funding.

They want to hear about amazing individuals across the UK who dedicate their time to improve the lives of those around them. The impact of their work does not need to be large or far reaching, what’s important is that their care and commitment deserve to be thanked and acknowledged.

Who is eligible to be nominated?

The National Lottery is searching for outstanding projects around the UK that are working to make a positive impact in their local communities. A total of 16 projects from across the UK will be shortlisted to take part in a public vote later in the year, to be crowned National Lottery Project of the Year. National Lottery-funded projects from any sector are eligible to enter The National Lottery Project of the Year category.

They are looking for individual heroes in the following categories:

  • Community & Charity
  • Arts, Culture & Film
  • Heritage
  • Sport
  • Environment
  • Young Hero (under 25s)
How much can you win?

All individual winners and the National Lottery Project of the Year will receive a trophy and a £5,000 cash prize for their project.

How to nominate?
  • To make your nomination for this year’s National Lottery Awards, complete an entry form.
  • All individual nominations will be considered for this award, as they look to honour somebody who has gone the extra mile to make the lives of other people that little bit better.
  • Winners of the individual categories will be decided by their judging panel, made up of members from The National Lottery family and partners.
  • Nominations must be funded by The National Lottery or be associated with a project which has received National Lottery funding. If you are not sure, don’t worry! Nominate them anyway, and their team will check it out.
Is there a deadline?
  • Nominations close at 12:00pm on 16 May 2023.
