We’re honoured to share that Cianna’s Smile, has been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2024! This is the highest recognition a local voluntary group can receive in the UK, equivalent to an MBE.
We would like to dedicate our award in memory of Siobhan Richards-Slater, a beautiful and bubbly child whose smile lit up any room. Her spirit continues to inspire us every day, and we truly miss her.
Our team works tirelessly to raise awareness, provide support, and make a meaningful difference for young people and families impacted by Sickle Cell. Cianna’s Smile is one of 281 local charities, social enterprises, and volunteer groups receiving this prestigious award this year. Their work, alongside others across the UK, highlights the incredible impact volunteers have on their communities and the lives around them.
The King’s Award for Voluntary Service celebrates the outstanding contributions of volunteer groups, established in 2002 for Her Majesty The late Queen’s Golden Jubilee and continued by His Majesty The King. This year marks the second year under its new name.
Thank you to all of our volunteers that dedicate so much time to make sure we are able to support as many young people as possible. Without you this would not be possible!
