Working with local authorities and primary schools, Avanti Cycling offers Bikeability courses to school-age children across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Bikeability enables children to gain practical skills and understand how to cycle on today’s roads.

From the providers of this foundation course, Avanti Freewheelers Community Cycling Club launched in Reading. This club provides a special opportunity for young people, ages 11 to 16, the freedom to enjoy and excitement that comes from riding their bikes in their neighbourhoods. Each month the club will put on community events and/or rides from our locations in Reading (Whitley, Southcote, Calcot and Weller Centre in Lower Caversham) including Led Fun Rides, Led off-road adventure rides, Dr Bike sessions, fix my own bike maintenance sessions, cycling skills sessions, mountain bike coaching skills sessions and more.

Most sessions are free, and some sessions are open to younger children and/or families. Follow this link for up-to-date sessions and registration information: https://reading.avantifreewheelers.cc/
