The role of Panel Member is to participate in making recommendations for each adoption case.
This involves:
- reading the circulated papers before each adoption panel
- attending panels
- being prepared to raise issues
- contribute to the panel discussion.
Whilst undertaking these duties it is the role of the Panel Member to promote diversity and anti-discriminatory practice and to safeguard confidentiality.
The expectation for this role is that Panel Members are reliable and punctual with good listening skills and the ability to read and analyse large amounts of complex and sensitive information.
If you have experience either professionally or personally, or both, of the placement of children in adoptive families then we would like to hear from you.
