Additional volunteers needed to help us maintain and grow the annual Reading In Bloom.

Our aim is to encourage individuals and groups who, through their gardening efforts, play an active role in making our town and neighbourhoods beautiful and productive. We do this by running the annual Reading In Bloom competition (which is free to enter).

We are looking for individuals with marketing and promotional skills or who could be active in approaching businesses for sponsorship, as we rely entirely on donations and grants to survive. Our friendly meetings are once a month on a weekday, early evening.

Also, if you have horticultural knowledge, why not become one of our judges for one of the many categories of gardens that enter the annual competition. You would need to be available for a day or two in July for this.

We particularly want to re-vitalise our Schools Challenge to reward schools which are helping children enjoy and learn through gardening. A volunteer who can help co-ordinate this scheme would be very welcome.
