Help provide information and advice on arthritis

Information / Advice volunteers needed for Arthritis Care

Arthritis Care Champion

This is a really exciting opportunity for people who have experience of arthritis whether personal or via family and friends – or are willing to learn – to provide information to people living with arthritis. For a few hours each month (or more if preferred), you would be helping us run Drop Ins in one or more of our existing Reading and West Berkshire venues: currently Central Reading, Thatcham, Hungerford, Tilehurst, Newbury, Wokingham, Pangbourne and Caversham.

You can choose your local area and we will be adding new areas, so please do get in touch.

What will I do?

Full training and ongoing support is provided and your role would involve providing information at our Drop Ins- this usually means taking to people with Arthritis and providing information on local organisations, exercise and more. This would be with the full support of attending Arthritis Care staff. Our Drop Ins are very popular and we always have good attendance; you would be directly helping local people to access the information they need to manage their condition.

There are further opportunities to provide telephone support and lead workshops – all with full training and support – should you wish to be involved in these. Arthritis Care staff at every drop in will support you and we will make sure you are confident and comfortable before you start in your role.

Recruitment process: please fill in the online application form – applicants will be invited to an informal interview.
