Editors and Producers needed for weekly audio news service
Information / Advice volunteers needed for Reading’s Talking Newspapers for the Blind (Reading TN) in RG1
Would you like to work with a small local charity supporting the blind and vision-impaired community of Reading and surrounding regions?
Reading’s Talking News produces a weekly audio news service to help people keep in touch with what’s going on in their area.
Working as part of a small team, we are looking for volunteers for two roles — Editors and Producers
Editors are responsible for collecting news and press items of interest from the local and national media. As part of a small team, they also read out news stories for recording by our producers.
The Producers record the readings each week and compile into an edition which is distributed to our listeners.
Full support is available for both roles with the opportunity to shadow and see what’s involved.
If you can spare a few hours each month, you can be assured of a warm welcome from our small team of volunteers.
