We are setting up a local Science Center to foster passion in science and critical thinking.

We are looking for someone interested in public speaking about critical thinking and cognitive biases.

You will be provided with training and material to carry out the role.

You don’t need to memorise the talk as you will be provided with a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes.

The idea is to teach a logical fallacy and cognitive bias once a week and show a video to encourage people to feel inspired about science.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide people the skills to understand the world around them as there is growing concern over the lack of scientific literacy causing people to harm themselves or others.

There is a strong need in Reading to counter fake news and false information being spread on social media and other platforms.
