Autism at Kingwood is a registered Charity, limited by guarantee, providing support to adults on the autistic spectrum to lead happy and fulfilled lives in the community.
With a Head Office based in Lower Earley just off the M4 and a turnover of £6 million we work across the Thames Valley, in the counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The charity employs almost 300 staff providing support to approximately 140 adults with autism and provides advice and guidance to more than 250 people with Asperger Syndrome each year.
The impending rotation of Trustees has created opportunities for interested parties to join the Autism at Kingwood Board. Whilst we welcome applications from all individuals who feel that have skills to so share, an individual with experience or interest in Human Resources, fundraising or communications, or a clinical background may be of benefit to the charity.
The Board meets in Reading four times a year and the charity’s governance also benefits from sub-committee meetings however due to recent Covid restrictions all our meetings are currently held using the platform Zoom.
We are keen to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees and we welcome applications from all sections and ethnic backgrounds of the community. Unfortunately, in order to preserve the confidentiality of people, we support we do not accept applicants whose relative is receiving support from Kingwood.
