Our volunteers support and enable people with a physical disability to take up, or return to, a hobby, interest, sporting activity or learning opportunity which they cannot do without some help or support. This support is mainly about giving confidence, understanding and emotional support to bring colour to our members’ lives.
We are looking for everyday folk who might have a few free hours each week to share an interest with someone with a disability. That hobby you’ve had for years might be just the thing that one of our Members is looking for. You never know – volunteering might actually add some unexpected colour to your life too!

Man in his early 40’s would like someone to help him to cook spicy foods either after work or during the day. He has MS and no longer has enough strength in his hands to chop vegetables so would need someone to help do tasks which require more strength than he currently has.
He has a great sense of humour and is looking forward to improving his culinary skills and having another person to chat with.
He presently lives in Caversham but may be moving to West Reading. No date sorted for that yet.
His other interests include watching football and playing on his X-box. He also likes watching films and has an interest in British Sign Language – if anyone would like to teach him some signing.
