Memory Walk is a sponsored walk for all ages and abilities to unite together to raise money to defeat dementia. A Memory Walk will take place here in Reading on the 1st October 2017.
Volunteers are the only way we can make these walks happen. Without volunteers we wouldn’t be able to unite against dementia.Volunteers are key to ensuring the smooth running of the event and help all of our walkers have the best day possible!
We have various roles available for volunteers who wish to support the Memory Walk:
Route Volunteers
Marshalling: Positioned at key points in the route to ensure walkers are heading in the right direction, as well as cheering them on and keeping them motivated.
Route marking: A pair will head out with a rucksack and equipment (everything is provided) to put up signs and ensure they are in the correct place early in the morning. Another pair will be back route markers, following the last of the walkers and inform marshals to the event site.
Walk Volunteers
At the finish line: Congratulate our walkers as they cross the finish line and present them with their medals and water.
Event setup and breakdown: Help setup the event site and take everything down at the end of the day.
Walk team: Interact with our walkers before and after the walk. This will include selling merchandise and keeping the event site clean and tidy, ensuring everyone is safe at the event.
Most roles are needed between 08:30am-13:30pm
