3rd Reading Scout Group want you to help create everyday adventure!

Leading group activities volunteers needed for Berkshire Scouts in RG4

3rd Reading Scout Group wants your help to create every day adventure!

The group, on Grove Hill in Caversham, is looking for enthusiastic adult volunteers to help with activities for their Beaver Colony (age 6-8) and their Scout Troop (age 10.5-14)

You can choose which one to help with! The role involves helping fellow Leaders to run the exciting activities they have planned for the children. You’ll be supporting the children to learn new skills, grow their confidence, work toward badges, as well as go on fun trips and outings! From abseiling to zorbing – we do it all and you can get involved!

The Beavers and Scouts meet on different days and on different times. So you can choose to get involved with which ever one best suits your availability –

  •  Beavers meet 5.15pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday evenings.
  •  Scouts meet 7-9pm on Friday evenings.

We promote flexible volunteering. The Beavers and Scouts each meet once a week during term-time. You can volunteer weekly, fortnightly, monthly – whatever suits you.

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and would like to help them develop and grow through the everyday adventure that Scouting offers.

You do not need to have any Scouting background. We can offer you a free DBS check, free training, masses of career skills, and a great chance to improve your CV. There’s also plenty of support from fellow volunteers and the chance to meet new people. The most important part is that it’s fun and incredibly rewarding.

Scouting in the UK is organised through The Scout Association. Its purpose is to help young people, aged 6-25 years old, achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. With 450,000 members in the UK, Scouting is the largest mixed youth organisation in the country.
Scouting happens in over 130 communities across Berkshire, involving over 9,200 young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
